Episode 65-Ken Kartes, Photographer
Photographer Ken Kartes’ love of nature began with visits to the zoo in his hometown of Stoneham, Mass. It continues with the inspiration he finds outside his door in Dover, N.H., around Great Bay, the Seacoast area and the White Mountains. Mostly self-taught, Ken honed his passion for shooting through the online community www.photonet.com. Some of my best photos come during unplanned moments, says Ken. Many times, for example, he’ll go out with the mission of photographing birds but will end up with better shots of flowers or a nearby brook. Says Ken, “Being open to what nature has to offer is key to me.”
